Robert Murray M’Cheyne wrote, “Your own soul is your first and greatest care.”  Books from the foundational floor of the JPC library on caring for your soul through relationship with Christ.

To be called, “Pastor” by one of God’s children is one of life’s most precious privileges.  On these shelves you’ll find books on the life and work of those who who are called to shepherd God’s flock.

The Bride of Christ.  Christ’s Living Temple.  The Body of Christ.  The chosen vessel of God’s work in the world.  In this section are solid reads on the church, its essence, its mission and its reformation.

The church does not exist in a vacuum, nor is its sole purpose its meetings on Sunday.  On these shelves are books on the often difficult, always dynamic relationship between the church and culture.

Here are the stories of those who have shown us the way to Christ and the way to follow Christ.  They make real to us what it is to be a disciple in all of its substance, its struggles and its soul satisfaction.

The final command of Jesus on earth we to go make disciples of all nations.  Our obedience is the only option.  In these stacks you’ll find life-changing reads on Missions. Do you dare take one off the shelf?

Our eclectic section, here you’ll find JPC favorite authors and titles that don’t quite fit on our other shelves.  There’s no rhyme or reason to our system; it’s a “brocante” of the books we ever keep close at hand.

A side room of the JPC Library, Economics is a fascinating study in kingdom values, reasoning, and how to meet practical human needs.  Turn of the TV talking heads and read the masters who know.
